Robert Miles: An Electronic Music Pioneer Who Will Always Have A Special Place In My Heart

I still remember when I discovered the music of Robert Miles, it was a revelation to me. It was in 1996, and I was living in London. One day, while listening to one radio station dedicated to play Trance music, I heard a song that caught my attention. It was "Children" by Robert Miles.

From the first moment I heard that song, I knew it was something special. The main piano melody was beautiful and immersive, with a combination of synthesizers and rhythms that immediately captivated me. The song stayed in my head all day.

That's how I discovered his first album, "Dreamland," which was released in 1996. The album included other hits like "Fable" and "One and One." Robert Miles' music was different from anything I had heard before. It was a blend of genres, from ambient and electronic music to classical and pop.

Robert Miles' music was a complete sensory experience. The melody, harmony, and rhythm combined to create a hypnotic and immersive atmosphere. His music took me to distant places, and I felt like I was floating on a cloud of sound.

As I continued to explore his music, I discovered that Robert Miles was a true innovator in the world of electronic music. His mix of classical and electronic elements, as well as his focus on melody and harmony, made him a true pioneer in the genre.

For me, Robert Miles' second album, "23am," is undoubtedly a masterpiece of the emotional Ambient genre. Released in 1997, the album continues to explore Miles' distinctive style, blending elements of electronic and ambient music with emotive and evocative melodies. It's an album that feels like a complete experience, an emotional and immersive musical exploration that takes you through complex and fascinating soundscapes.

To this day, I still enjoy Robert Miles' music and his legacy lives on in the current electronic scene. His music continues to remind us of how exciting it can be to discover something new and thrilling in music, and how it can have a lasting impact on people's lives.

Sadly, Robert Miles passed away in 2017 at the age of 47 due to an unspecified illness. His musical legacy remains highly influential in the electronic scene, and his song "Children" remains a classic and a benchmark in the Trance genre.
