SomaFM is a popular internet radio station that offers a variety of channels, including several dedicated to ambient music. Here are SomaFM's ambient radio stations:

They accept music submissions and they are particularly interested in music that creates a contemplative atmosphere.
If you are interested in submitting music to them, they accept higher resolution online downloads which have been released and are available for purchase by listeners, either from a retailer, via an online service like Amazon, CD Baby, or Bandcamp.com, or direct from the artist or label's web site.
